Administrative protocols and discipline are an invariable part of service for all Government servants and generally every Government servant follows the service protocols. At the same time we should also understand that Government servants are also social individuals with collective social obligations. They live in the same society like every other citizen and are affected by the injustices in their personal, familial, social & environmental matters.
Threatening and imposing blanket curbs on their basic rights to protest appropriately in a democratic manner is not a justified move especially in Pandemic time’s. Every citizen including Government servants are going through a lot of stress and threats at this most inopportune time will effect negatively on their morale.
The extant CCS Conduct Rules are already a strong deterrent and such open threats are not at all a sign of healthy governance.
But then what can be expected from a Government that’s repeatedly proved its Autocratic nature. Good Governance is a far cry from this Government which has been thriving on purposeful Mismanagement and Opportunism. It’s been doing it’s business of Corruption and Mismanagement throughout the World Pandemic and making scapegoats of Government servants for their purposeful misgovernance. Now when the Civil servants have started realising the follies of this Government, it’s decided to stiffle the voices of legitimate dissent as an only an autocracy can – by threats!
As more and more of the Corruption, Mismanagement and involvements in the ugly drug business of the bigwigs of this Government keep getting exposed, there’s panic right from the CMOs down to the otherwise irrelevant BJP stooges. Thus begins the language of threats against those who could expose the Government and it’s misdoings.
The CMOs should appreciate that we’re under Pandemic protocol and not an Emergency!
