PORVORIM YUVA WELFARE TRUST  was established about one and half years ago having formed with a vision towards development of Porvorim Constituency i.e Penha-de-France, Salvador-do-Mundo and Socorro Panchayat as a whole.

The Trust elected Shri. Rohan Ashok Khaunte as the Chairman of the Trust. Under the Chairmanship of Shri. Rohan Ashok Khaune the Trust has been variably undertaking schemes for the needy to give them a respectable platform.

About  137 Self Help groups within Porvorim allowing the women to run a business on their own and be self sufficient. The Trust  has initiated various programmes like Mahila Melawa, Jagruti Shibir to help towards women empowerment. Various training programmes like Floating Candles, Agarbatti, Decorative items, Gift items, Catering products, Home made products, Handcrafts etc.

The Trust has formed Bhajani Mandal Groups with a mix of adults and Children to promote cultural activities as Bhajans are a part of inculcating good habits in a child which adopts devotional path and can lead to true path in their future life.

Porvorim has vast land utilized for farming and the Trust  has initiated the formation of Farmer’s Clubs to resolve the issues of farmers, provide them support and assist them in resolving their issues.

Trust is providing health camps like Eye Camps with distribution of free spectacles, carrying out cataract operations, Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Camps for the women, Urology Camp etc. for the people of Porvorim.

To motivate and inspire the younger generation The Trust has conducted various activities like Computer Awareness programme, Book/Uniform and Shoes were distributed to  students,  Motivational competitions for children of Porvorim like Drawing, Handwriting, Poetry etc.

Towards development of wards and religious institutions like Temples, Churches, Mosque etc the trust is actively involved in assisting  them with infrastructure and upgrading basic infrastructure facilities like electrical lighting, Garden, Play Grounds.

As an initiative to clear Porvorim of plastic waste Plastic and garbage management drive was conducted and Garbage collection centers were opened. Cycle, Dustbins and manpower to carry out the Garbage collection were provided.

The Trust also promotes youth in Social, Cultural and sports.

The trust also helps people of Porvorim to understand the benefits of various Government schemes and guides them trough the process.
