A review of the revenue department taluka wise was conducted along with the Collectors from North and South Goa, Dy Collectors and other government officials. This was done to understand the status of the department, the difficulties they are facing and to ensure that all the pending issues are addressed. Since the Revenue department is the backbone of the government functionaries, it is important to plan and timeline the projects as we expect results, plans, and accountability. In the last one year, a lot of time was spent on simplification of procedures which included implementation of time-bound services through which we aim to achieve the ease of doing business. We have also kept in mind the reforms that have come due to the mutation and partition process, also considering Mamlatdar courts to function on Saturdays and from the E- District point of view as well. The certification of matters like caste, divergence, residence etc has an online platform created for them.
This has helped ease the problems of the common man as the direct interaction with the government officials has been eliminated.
The review of the problems faced by the collectors were also brought up and the necessary actions required to expedite them were discussed. Issues pertaining to illegal structures, land, and stagnancy of pending problems were raised. The right to time-bound services initiative has also been acted upon by the revenue department and we have simplified the procedure and made it people friendly, but there are still some platforms yet to be achieved.
