Consequent to the assurance given by Hon’ble Minister for Housing in Assembly on the Calling Attention tabled by Hon’ble M.L.A. of Porvorim Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte for having a new Market for Porvorim through Goa Housing Board. Hon’ble Minister of Housing Board Shri. Milind Naik, Chairman of Housing Board Shri. Glenn Ticlo, Officials from Housing Board and the Members of three Panchayats were invited for inspection of the dilapidated Porvorim Market on 11/08/2012. The inspection was carried in order to decide the future strategy of the new market for Porvorim.
After taking round around the market by the dignitaries as above it was realized that trading in present market is very much dangerous of account of dilapidated condition of the market and also on account of unhygienic conditions.
The Minister, The Chairman and the M.L.A. of Porvorim have firmly opined that a new market should be constructed without wasting any more time. They have also concluded that a committee be formed to decide the type of market to be constructed for Porvorim. Hon’ble Minister for Housing Board assured the member that all assistance will be extended by his office for speedy construction of new Market for Porvorim. Hon’ble M.L.A. Porvorim thanked Hon’ble Minister for Housing and Chairman Housing Board for sparing their valuable time and visiting the Market in his Constituency.
