We faced major problems when it came to solving sewage waste disposal issue of the Porvorim constituency. Before 2012, sewage disposed in soak pits and septic tanks were in danger of leaking into the ground water table of the constituency. Endangering the lives of thousands of citizens.
2016
We made sewage problem one of our priority issues to be tackle. One of the major hurdles we faced was that Porvorim has a hard rock surface. This made building the new sewage infrastructure difficult. But we persevered and achieved great success, after spending 285 crores and using futuristic technology, Porvorim finally has good sewage disposal network in place.
Cost: 285 crores
Achievements
- Comprehensive sewage network built in and nearby areas of Porvorim (Rs. 285 crores spent).
- Night soil tanker provided at a subsidized rate to all residents regularly.
