Football Closing Ceremony
Diwali Vacation Football camp was organised by Sporting Club de Porvorim, supported by Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte – MLA Porvorim Constituency. This camp was organised at the Holy Family Ground from 10/11/2012 to 24/11/2012 to the budding talents of Porvorim Constituency. Around 80 boys under the age group of 12 and 14 years took part in this programme. The eminent Footballers Mr. Seby Rodrigues, Mr. Melvin Rodrigues and Mr. Damodar Kerkar trained the boys almost for 14 days.
On 25/11/2012 the function was concluded with distribution of Certificates to the participants at the hands of Rev. Fr. Oscar Quadros, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte in his speech said that in 2013 this ground will be a multi utility ground and he is trying to complete this ground as early as possible. He also said that such vacation camps will be held every year to encourage the youth to participate in sports activity and promote budding talents and parents should support and encourage their children not only in studies but also in sports. Shri. Seby Rodrigues also spoke during the function sharing his experience and encouraged the budding talents of Porvorim. ZP Shri. Gupesh Naik also shared his views during the function.
