A Grievances Meeting was called by Shri. Rohan Khaunte, M.L.A. Porvorim of the people of Salvador-Do-Mundo on 4/08/2012. He heard the issues around 100 people gathered at Sunandabai High School, Salai. The majority of people raised the issue on garbage, fluctuation power supply, timely issue of Power bills, Non-supply of Domestic Gas, Retaining Wall, Gutters, replacement of Footpath Tiles, Widening of Road, Widening of Culvert, maintenance of Torda Pond from nuisance etc.
Hon’ble M.L.A. replied each and every issue raised by the people. He Stressed that the issue pending for last 15-20 years are getting solved now. But people should not make the issue politically. Present Government under able leadership of Shri. Manohar Parrikar is for the change.
As far as Garbage is concerned he informed people to select the dumping site in co-ordination of your Panchayat itself. Secondly he suggested to adopt the Garbage collection from door-to-door. On Roads, Culvert, Construction of Gutters, the matter will be taken up with the concerned Department. In case of Speed Breakers and Signage, the issue is already with the Collector North for implementation.
As far as domestic gas is concerned, he informed that both the Agents have been made to understand that supply of Gas should be done properly. If still any problem remains then we take this issue with the Civil Supplies Department and Petroleum Depot at Vasco. The majority of development works like gutters, retaining walls, changing of tiles on footpaths, new roads, culvert widening etc. will be taken up after the Monsoon session. The Meeting was also attended by other Panch Members of Salvador-Do-Mundo.
