Goa Opinion Poll Day 2019

The first ever Opinion Poll changed the fate of Goa and it’s independence 52 years ago, and we as a constitution have come a very long way since then.
As the only referendum to have taken place in our country, the belief in it’s intent managed to shape Goa’s future as an independent state and it’s fateful future as one of the safest and most popular destinations in the whole country.

Goa attained its own identity as a state after a lot of struggle and efforts of Dr. Jack Sequeria and others. It is thus our duty as true Goenkars to ensure that the sacrifices and efforts do not go to waste and are supported decades after decades.
Not just honour the sacrifice, but conserve and protect the identity of Goa for the whole world to know. Our aim should be to preserve Goenkarpon and pass on all the traditions, cultural traits and the pride of Goenkarpon to our future generations as well. Goa is just not a state, it’s an emotion and attachment for all of us and all our efforts need to be driven towards instilling unity, pride and happiness of being Goenkars.

I have always worked for the Goans and the society as my main ambition is to lead Goa towards the changes that it deserves. Through the constant support of everyone, we have been able to implement development and radical changes in the fields of technology, community welfare, employment and the eventual empowerment of the people. With the aim of solidifying the community, enabling the youth to be skilled and able, developing major IT revolutionary changes in the society and instilling a sense of sustainable living amongst the people – we have come a long way together. I have been blessed with the most supportive and receptive community, and only together we can take Goa to heights that our ancestors had envisioned as they fought for Goa to be a free state.

I will fight tooth and nail for the prosperity of Goenkars and not bow down to anyone who doesn’t share the best interest and vision for the state. My priority has been and will always remain to work for the welfare of Goenkarpon first and see Goa and Goenkars prosper and thrive in all the possible ways.

Launch of Cipla Technical Academy

Unemployment has been an issue which we have been talking in the past which is not an issue only in the state or the nation but it has been an issue worldwide. As far as Goa is concerned we are trying to create employment opportunities by collecting data through the Labour & Employment Dept to check the ratio of unemployment as regards to contractual and permanent workers in the industry. We have understood that there is a skill gap, we have understood that there is an opportunity gap for our people who need to be skilled. We have had continuous talks and consultations with Cipla not only in regards to skilling in the Pharma sector but other opportunities like B.com BSc etc, as sometimes the employee may lack skills or exposure which may lead to lack of competence.

Today I am proud to announce the Cipla Technical Academy. The academy will have 2 parts
1) the Skill Development Programme – which will be for freshers i.e. the 10th and 12th std who look at opportunities where they will be given classroom training plus hands-on training
2) Aseptic Techniques Programme – which is basically for freshers who are Bsc, Msc Diplomas, Bpharm etc whose duration will be about 6 months after which they also will be having on-site training. We are trying to ensure that along with Cipla we are able to train our people. Once this skilling programme is done the first opportunity for these people and Cipla will be to review the situation whether these people are ready to be absorbed by Cipla thus helping in eliminating unemployment situations. In case there is an issue of certain people to be absorbed by Cipla, the Labour & Employment Dept will personally monitor to try and figure out where things are going wrong. We will also try and see if they can be absorbed by any other company as they are industry ready. Once this training academy starts we will immediately take this to the next level by getting other companies on the same tune whether it is a hotel industry or other things, everybody will start on the same vertical. Under the able leadership of our Hon CM Shri Manohar Parrikar, this Govt is trying to do its best to tackle unemployment opportunities by providing the best skills to our fellow Goenkars. In the last 18 months, this Govt towards employment has facilitated a very positive outcome with the industry. We welcome all the industries to Goa as long as they are able to support the ecosystem i.e. when we calculate any industry investment in the state, we look at Revenue per sq mt and Employment per sq mt. We will monitor the training academy for about 3 months and then will ensure that there is a task force to monitor the programme by recruiting skill development officers. We are very clear that industries setting shop in Goa have to give priority to our fellow Goenkars as regards to jobs and this Govt has taken a very proactive step towards fulfilling this. It is not that the Labour & Employment Dept is trying to squeeze somebody , it is very clear that the Dept is trying to work very closely with the industry to ensure the growth of the industry as well as at the same time create expertise as far as the state is concerned in terms of creating talent, creating technical manpower etc . This is a step which has been taken for the first time in the history of the state where a govt is working along with a corporate to ensure that skilling goes in the right direction.

Inauguration of Goa’s First Citizen Service Centre (CSC)

Goa’s first Citizen Service Centre (CSC) adopted under the Right to Time Bound Services Act under the simplification of procedures and ease of doing business was inaugurated at Margao in Salcete Taluka. This was the first electronic inauguration done by our Hon CM Shri Manohar Parrikar. This centre will reduce time and efforts of citizens by getting rid of long tedious procedures and bypassing all officers. Citizens can walk in to apply for residence certificates, divergence certificates, caste certificates, sound permissions as well as survey forms, Form B or even registration services for shops & establishments as well as renewals and other such important services can be completed easily and with complete transparency. Citizens just have to come, pay the fees, and take the necessary papers within 5 days. These services can also be availed while sitting at home on https://goaonline.gov.in/. By August 15th 2018, we will open 4 to 6 more centres in various locations & within the next 8 to 10 months, each Taluka will have a Citizen Service Centre as states by our Hon CM. In the next 3 to 6 months, we will also enable agriculture, education and socio-welfare related services at all these centres. We have also set up a helpdesk at all these centres to assist people in obtaining the required certificates online at the centre. For the last 1.5 years, this government under the leadership of Shri Manohar Parrikar has demonstrated how it can help the common people by simplifying procedures and easing services for their benefits #GovtForThePeople

Goa Revolution Day

Today, Goa is a torchbearer among India’s most developing states in terms of our enviable standard of living, blooming start-up sector and our time-honored tourism sector but all this is the result of a different independence struggle that ended a 435-year-long oppressive Portuguese rule in Goa. Goa revolution day is celebrated to pay homage towards the sacred memory of revered martyrs who laid down their life for the liberation of Goa from Portuguese Colonial Rule.

In a Public Meeting held on 18 June 1946, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Dr. Juliao Menezes urged the people of Goa to stand against the oppression from the Portuguese and to fight for their freedom. They sought to unite the Goenkars for a common cause and those were for a better life, a prosperous future and to put an end to the oppressive foreign colonial power that was choking the life out of Goa. The turnout was so big that police decided to arrest both Dr. Lohia and Dr. Menezes. Thus the day would prove to be a watershed day in the history of the Goan freedom struggle, where the inhumane treatment meted out by the Portuguese police to those protesting would leave a lasting impression on young Goans.  Since then, the day was remembered as the Goa Revolution Day.

The unity and sense of brotherhood in every Goenkar was the primary reason why the Portuguese failed in continuing their rule. The same sense of togetherness is still a great driving force for Goa’s development. People of Goa, even with all their diversities have always come together in times of necessity and have worked together to make a change. This spirit is what drives Goa towards a bright future. We must never take for granted the freedom that has been handed down to us by those luminous souls. We must take lessons from their lives and strive to uphold the standards of liberty, equality, and justice. We as Goenkars should imbibe the calmness of our beaches, the fierceness of our seas and the ethereal beauty of our little paradise in our daily lives to portray the true sense of freedom that Goa flamboyantly exudes.

In the past year, we as a state have achieved a number of remarkable things including a drastic growth in the areas of Start-ups, Women empowerment, and Farmer incentives. This is the result of Sheer trust that Goenkars had upon our government. Our primary aim has always been growth and development of Goa and I’m humbled to say that under the guidance of our Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar, we are developing in an extraordinary pace. Together with your support and trust, we will take Goa to great heights. We have always traveled the extra mile, and have done whatever it takes to maintain and improve the sanctity of Goen, Goenkar, and Goenkarpon.  Goa is in the path of development and only with the same spirit of unity, we can take Goa towards happiness and glory that we all deserve.

It’s happening right now, through us, through you!

Krishi Melava 2018

We are very proud of how far we have come since the initiation of the Farmers Clubs in Porvorim. This initiative was for supporting the farmer community and promoting and encouraging more people to invest time and effort into farming.
Starting with barely 5 members per club , we now stand at more than 100 members in every club. The aim was to encourage the youth to take an equal interest in farming so that they can take it forward in the future. From our side , we are doing our best to make this a success by spreading awareness and knowledge , providing high yielding seeds, modern equipments such as tractors , harvestors etc and fertilisers as well.
Our whole aim is to promote organic farming and get the best yield of output.
