The Vagator drug bust is taking mysterious twists and turns and the real issue of drug menace is shadowed by political vendetta.
As usual, the CMOs & BJP has found opportunity even in a so called simple drug bust to suppress the Opposition voices.
While 23 people were arrested initially, all except 4 including Zhaveri , were released citing the pandemic act.
Subsequently, a totally unconnected & innocent person who was not even in the vicinity of the raid was taken into custody and the entire focus of the case shifted from a drug raid to political opportunism for suppression and vendetta.
The priorities of BJP has now shifted so much that there’s no more progress for punitive action regarding the 4 accused including Zhaveri whose photo was seen with almost every top brass in BJP including the CM.
Instead, the BJP ploy is now to link the innocent victim of political blame game and target the Voices of Goans in the Opposition who’re always risking everything to expose the truth and have thus become a threat to this Autocratic CM and BJP.
How conveniently were the majority of the arrested released? How very conveniently has the CMOs forgotten about the main 4 accused including Zhaveri ? There seems to be no follow up action whatsoever on this prominent case except that the innocent person arrested is being victimised for his personal relationships with those in the Opposition. It is clearly evident from this status shift that the CMOs & BJP have vested interests with those 4 major accused and now the focus is on protecting & saving them. Nothing new in that because the BJP is always trying to purify Criminals and Drug Lord’s and welcoming them with open arms.

With the links of Zhaveri to the “Who’s Who” of BJP firmly established beyond doubt, it will not be much of a surprise if the whole case is bundled up and Zhaveri walks free!

The stage managed press conferences by nondescript and outdated stooges of the BJP show the trepidation of the actual leaders to face the public. Secondly, these press conferences are silent on the prime accused and simply blowing up on the innocent person whose being framed as an alleged co-accused. This seriously is a tip for the Police to explore the links between the main accused and his links in the Government and BJP. Our Lawmen should not fall for this diversion tactics aimed at clouding public judgement to save the real culprits and their political Godfathers.
Besides that, the BJPs Bollywood affliction is no secret and since the present prime accused is from Bollywood, there definitely will be an obligation for BJP to save him. And so this ugly diversion linking an innocent person so that the trail of actual linkups & high connections goes cold.

Such is the dirty vendetta politics of BJP where an innocent person is made political victim while the real issue of drug menace continues under their political patronage.

It’s time the People of Goa and the Upholders of Law take notice of this blatant disregard for Law & Justice.

The Vagator rave party drug bust seems to be much more than what it appears to be. It hides much more of political rooting than the visibly plain action by the lawmen.

So while links, both new and old are being thrown around in social media, there’s much more to it than being photographed with the accused or photograph being morphed with the accused.

I leave such pettiness to those who enjoy such cheap trickestry. The plain truth is that Goa is becoming more and more of a drug haven despite a worldwide pandemic. Is this possible without political backing from those in power? And the ruling party has the gall to blame Photoshop when everyone knows who in the Ministry runs the Drug Shop in the most famous beach belt of Goa!
Regarding the photo blame game, I just want to say that when even the Most Honoured Late Shri Parriker is innocently sharing photo space with some of the accused, it’s pretty stupid to dwell on such things. Rather its time to concentrate more on the real issue of drugs.

And while on it, the reality is that the very obvious Pablo Escobar about whom the BJP seems to have a blind spot, is trying to be one up in this dirty Politician-Drug Mafia game. The BJP Leadership is pretty much in a confusion trying to purify drug pedlars turned politicians. They have been trying to use cheap innuendos like “This person is not that person”. But the glaring truth is that the same people who were alleged to be Drug Lords under the Politician-Police-Drug Peddler nexus by the BJP some years back are today under the safe umbrella of BJP and as soon as they joined BJP, there’s a raid in the Drug Empire of North Goa Drug Lord and it makes one wonder if this raid and drug bust after a long hiatus is the beginning of a turf war between the Drug Lords of North & South for control of the Drug Cartel in Goa with the CM acting as the referee on behalf of the party which will need funds sponsored by the drug mafia for the next elections.

Linking an innocent person to the drug bust and trying to drag me down for being the voice of Goans against Mismanagement & Mis-Governance will not work. It only strengthens my resolve to fight corruption and expose the fallacies of this Government and the Criminal elements that control it.
I will stand by my people and will stop at nothing but the total eradication of the drug menace from Goa.

The news regarding tree cutting, soil erosion and repeated mudslides in the hills of Baga & Sinquerim needs to be viewed seriously failing which a big disaster is waiting to happen. Blatant cutting of trees in these hill areas engaging labourers despite being under dispute in High Court cannot take place without powerful political backing.

This act is a direct challenge to the locals protesting against the tree cutting in these naturally sensitive areas. The frequent mudslides at Sinquerim due to soil erosion which in turn is a direct result of rampant felling of trees is threatening the very standing of Fort Aguada, the historic landmark of Goa!

Why do local politicians turn a blind eye to these infringements on nature? Why’s it that even when locals are opposed to the destruction of nature, our elected representatives are acting in opposite interests? When will we learn that the natural beauty and historic sites are the reason why tourists flock to Goa and that our economy depends on Preservation and not Destruction of our natural assets?

The livelihood of these beach belts depends upon sustaining the natural beauty and not Rave Parties or Drug peddling. Worldwide people are planting trees and in the Tourism Capital of India we’re cutting trees with the patronage of the high and mighty whose source of moneybags is kickbacks from Rave Parties & Drug Mafia. We all need to awake and act before its too late.

I pledge my full support to the locals in their fight to save the beautiful hills and the historic Fort Aguada.

The entire country is up in protests against EIA (Environment Impact Assessment) proposal and here in Goa we have a Dr CM who’s making a mockery of nature loving Goans by exhibiting double standards on similar issues involving Goa.

On one hand, he builds up a tempo of opposition to Karnataka on the Mhadei issue and on the other hand, rampant tree felling is being carried out in the Mollem biodiversity in the name of development!

The biggest anomaly is that while we’re cutting trees in Mollem for the proposed projects, our counterparts in Karnataka are fulfilling the compensatory afforestation requisites on our behalf in an attempt to depict that they are nature friendly. This dilutes the Mhadei water issue as a friendly affair between two states while in reality, Karnataka is reaping benefits on the both ends, thereby making the Government of Goa look like a clown to the nation.

Why the double standards? Whom are we trying to fool at the risk of destroying Mother Nature?? Or is it that the highly blown up fight with Karnataka is just a BJP sponsored gimmick between the two BJP governments while making fools of people on both sides???

It’s becoming extremely difficult to understand the political doctrines of this Doctor CM for they either reek of confusion or corruption and sometimes they are just a means to deviate the public attention from the real issue.

Every state in the country is setting up committees and the governments are actively pushing against the New EIA policy aimed at whole-scale destruction of our environment but Dr Pramod Sawant seems to show no interest in such sensitive subjects. He’s quite happy fooling Goans with his double standards while Goa is losing out on an entire river and at the same time losing our green cover in Mollem. Everything else can be summed up as politics but Dotor Bab, don’t fool with Mother Nature for it is something that we need to pass down to our future generations.

For once, take a stand as the CM of Goa, take a stand for Goemkarponn which is synonymous with Nature Loving, Take a Unified Stand on Mhadei & Mollem and all such Environmental Issues to retain “Sundor Sobit Goa” for the future generations of Goans.

Can we expect some Goemkarponn from the CM of Goa?

As 22 fresh cases get reported in the capital city of Panaji, the fears that I had raised much earlier seems to be coming true. If this spread continues, we are staring at a stage of Total Administrative Failure as key Government offices are based in the city.

We’re also aware by now that the official figures are far from correct which again is a cause for anxiety as the spread can be fast and uncontrollable in the congested capital.

The controversial situation in Altinho wherein the issue of 12 positive cases was mishandled is a shameful incident happening under the very nose of our Dr CM.

The Covid deaths are just 9 short of 100 and as Goa keeps creating unhealthy record’s reaching 570 new cases per day, crossing 10000 confirmed cases with 3491 active cases , it’s a truly alarming situation for our small but densely populated state.

I am extremely worried about the way the Covid-19 scenario is being repeatedly mishandled. I again request the CM to invoke a control from grassroot levels with the help of all Elected Representatives cutting across party politics to combat the pandemic.

The morale of Goa Police Is at its lowest point even while they shine as Covid Warriors alongside the Medical Fraternity. From Crime control to disaster management and now Covid control, this force has been providing dedicated service to the people of Goa. They risk life and limb and of late, even the dreaded Corona while going beyond their call of duty for Goans.

But the latest developments in the Police Administration has affected the morale of this dedicated force who have been denied the Promotion avenues. Any Policeman who joins the force in lower grades can aspire to retire as Dy.Superintendent or Superintendent by putting in dedicated service through promotional avenues that ensures timely service promotion. Stagnation in any cadre results in lack of motivation which will directly impact their morale and we cannot afford to have a lacklustre police force. Till date this force has done their duty with dedication, be it Crime control or Covid control and it’s sad that instead of acknowledging and rewarding their services, the Government is denying them promotional opportunities.

The present stance adopted by Goa Government denies this motivating aspect of service as the promotional postings are stagnated at PI level by not promoting them as Dy.SPs. The SI & PI is the feeder cadre for the Dy.SP posts since long and disruptive action to curtail the expectations of this cadre is a highly insensitive and de-motivating move. This feeder cadre forms the backbone of the Force and are the eyes and ears of the Government. They know Goa and Goans more than anyone else and with every promotion, their knowledge of ground realities will keep benefiting the Government and the people of Goa. Their intelligence gathering capacity, direct local interactions and long years of experience makes them the Most Valuable Assets of our Police Force. It is only just and deserving that this cadre of PI’s who have so much to offer towards Better Policing are given their rightful promotions at the earliest.

A Police Force lacking motivation is not a healthy scenario for any Government and the negation of Promotion is a direct reflection of bad Governance. No Head of State who believes in ensuring safety and security of the population will take such a negative approach.
A Police Force with a high morale and motivation forms the basis of Good Governance, Crisis Management and Crime control. If the Promotional avenues are shut out to this large cadre which maintains peace and order, it will directly reflect on their motivation to go beyond the call of duty and serve the people.

I appeal to the CM to take immediate steps to provide the rightful promotional avenues and restore the morale and motivation of our brothers and sisters in Goa Police who have also become our proud Corona Warriors.

I take this opportunity to Salute the Goa Police Force for their dedication & Thank them on behalf of myself and every Goan citizen for their Assuring Presence and Selfless Service… Jai Hind.

While the number of positive cases in a day has peaked at 506 cases in a single day, the Government is still in a limbo and telling people to follow Covid protocols strictly but is the Government doing anything anew to take control of the situation besides giving warnings and fining people for not wearing masks.

With GMC on the verge of a shutdown due to Covid infecting majority of the staff, the CMOs should come up with viable alternatives to counter the situation. The GMC is the final medical point of hope for all patients, be it Covid, accident fatalities or routine diseases treatment. Goa cannot afford it’s closure as GMC is the only source of best medical facilities to the common man, especially the economically weaker population.

I am just tired of repeatedly appealing to the CMOs for better Covid management by seeking help from Army Medical Corps so that we could be prepared for this present situation in GMC. It’s very lately that the Government has realised that the Medical Facilities in Goa are over stretched while I have been suggesting this on behalf of every Goan for the last 3 months and requesting the Government to be prepared but sadly, none of my appeals were taken seriously.

I have been objecting to the suppression of real Covid statistics for giving an ALL IS WELL IN GOA picture to the centre and now as a direct effect of giving low Covid figures, we have now received very low funds. The paltry sum of 12 crores is like a tight slap on the Goa Government while other smaller states like Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram & Sikkim have all received above 40 crores. So what did Dr. Pramod Sawant gain by pleasing his party bosses? Of course, Personal Benefits No Doubt! But what about the State of Goa? How’re we going to manage the uncontrollable spike and a plunging economy with such measly funds. Covid control is no more a short term policy, it’s going to be a long haul back to normalcy and Goa will need all the fund’s in wake of the fact that the two pillars of its economy tourism & mining have taken a hit.

I request the CMOs to look at things from a wider perspective with the welfare of Goans in mind and impress upon the Centre for more funds. We’re already lagging behind clueless about how to handle the situation in the upcoming teo months and even beyond that. I call upon the CM to go for an all party meet involving all the Elected Representatives and assign Covid Management irrespective of them being in ruling party or not. It’s time we all got together and came up with a joint effort on a statewide scale involving every possible means to control the spread of Covid in Goa. The time has come for everyone to set aside petty political differences and personal issues and work together hand in hand as Simply Goenkars exhibiting the strength of GOENKARPONN against Corona.

I have already committed myself earlier and I do so once again that my services are at the disposal of the CMOs 24 x7 in this fight against Covid.

It’s perhaps the first time in the history of independent Goa that so many precious lives have been lost within such a short time. It needs to be stressed upon that these ghastly figures are not just a reflection of the pandemic that’s wreaking havoc around the world but also signifies Absolute Mismanagement by our Government under the immature and careless leadership of CM Shri.Pramod Sawant. He’s truly the Accidental CM and this Accident has proved to be a Fatal Disaster for Goa, especially in these pandemic times.

It is sad to note that even after 60 precious lives being lost, the CMOs is conveniently ignoring the catastrophic escalations and going around with usual business and even thinking of building a new Raj Bhavan. It is like the proverbial Nero playing the fiddle while Rome was burning down.

Every day of inaction and Bhivpachi Garaj Na stance is leading to the number of deaths and infections recording a new high each evening. How the Leader of a State can go around without remorse or grief is a serious matter of concern. Perhaps autocracy and corruption has infected him so much that he has become immune to the sorrow, pain and devastation going around him.

From the beginning itself, I have been highlighting the need for a better management of Covid situation with proper planning for the projected spike in July-August. I had also been repeatedly requesting for improving our testing rates and methodology and I stand vindicated today on these and all other aspects that I have tried to bring to the notice of the CMOs, keeping in mind the welfare of the people of Goa.

If my pleas and valid suggestions were at least given the credit of being that of an Elected Representative of the People and were discussed in an open forum setting aside petty political ego and one-upmanship, we would perhaps have fared better. Effective Preparedness of Government machinery and Availability of Prompt Medical Facilities are of prime importance in combating a pandemic but sadly, our Government failed to have the foresight despite warnings from elected representatives and experts in the field. This Government has totally failed on Pandemic Crisis Management due to which we are now faced with lack of medical facilities, beds, isolation units, shortage of medical staff, uncontrolled rate of infections and death all around.

Our CM is keener on endorsing Goa’s Latin connection by enacting a Jair Bolsonaro style of Covid management or rather Mismanagement. Brazil today is the throes of mass deaths and desolation. The entire government machinery and the economy are in stagnation with no hope for revival as the huge number of deaths has left the country in a state of devastation. And just as the name crudely translates, our CM is filling his Bolsam[pockets] with money through corrupt means and ends like Quarantine Tourism, illegal mining, moneybags from the Casino/Hotel lobbies. Labour scam etc, of course all this, with the able support from his partner from Calangute who heads and executes all the underhand businesses.

Fraudulent suppression of Covid facts & figures, projecting a false bravado etc to give a Nothing to Worry in Goa picture to the Central Bosses has all backfired on hapless Goans who are now paying for all this with their precious lives.

Goa has to come out of this vicious cycle of carelessness, mismanagement, corruption and lack of governance all around. We cannot go on sacrificing lives because of the incompetence of a single person who lacks minimal compassion and concern for the continuous suffering of Goans and goes around with his arrogantly malicious attitude of “Bhivpachi Garaj Na” even after 60 precious lives are lost.

Goa is left with no other option but to call for a STEP DOWN/CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP to deliver Goans from the ever escalating infections and deaths.

Mismanagement has hit a shameful new low with the pitiful plea of the Mother & Daughter admitted at Margao Covid Hospital.

The plea that’s gone viral on social media points to the utter apathy and inhuman approach being meted out to Covid patients as if they are a scourge.

Lack of doctors, medical staff, beds and food is plaguing our Covid care hospitals only due to the failure of the Government in getting prepared for the worst.

Time and again, it was stressed upon the CMOs that the limited Medical Fraternity of our small state would not suffice to handle the worsening situation but every plea was met with an utterly irresponsible “Bhivpachi Garaj Na” that has brought us to this shameful position.
And when things go out of control, the CMOs hurriedly issues some directives which are even more unwise and only contribute to further complicating the situation.

These haphazard ways and means of the Government are taking toll on the lives of Goans making one wonder if this Government headed by CM Pramod Sawant is actually “For the People of Goa “ or “Against the People of Goa”.

Absolute lack of Empathy is evident in every action that this Government takes.
There’s no dialogue with the stakeholders and the Elected Representatives and everything is arbitrarily imposed without thought. This in turn leads to utter chaos following which more arbitrary directives are issued.

With 4 deaths in a day, taking the death toll to 43 and 1650+ active cases, the Pandemic is casting its dark shadow all over Goa.

And while serious crimes like prostitution are flourishing uncontrolled, especially in the North Goa Beach belt, the CMOs is using the Police to harass innocent expats/seafarers and others who have become jobless and are making a living by selling fruits, fish etc. Is this the state of Law & Order management by a responsible Government??

We can no more tolerate this careless approach of the Government playing with the lives of Goans as it’s been proved time and again that this Autocratic Government is not functioning for the welfare of the people.
It’s time that CM Pramod Sawant and his Government either start working responsibly and put up Good Governance or STEP DOWN.

Goa Government is falling short on giving prompt Covid test and the backlog is seemingly around 6000 and if that’s something to be alarmed of because it means the spread is going absolutely unchecked and the situation is unmanageable for Goa Government.

Taking into consideration the rapid increase in active cases, even if 25% of these pending results turn positive then we will be staring at an uncontrollable spread since by the time the results are out, these candidates would have contributed to a multiplied spread of the virus in their contact circle.

This perilous scenario is a results due to two factors:-

1. The foolish “Bhivpachi Garaj Na” attitude of CMOs that’s kept the Government mechanisms in absolute lethargy despite warnings for preparedness of spike from various credible sectors including elected representatives like me.
2. Shortage of testing kits and trained staff, this again because of the Governments utter failure to anticipate and be prepared with standby staff, ample testing facilities, medications, beds etc.

While on the subject of testing, it’s very pertinent to understand that the effectiveness of testing depends upon proper methodology, optimal storage & speedy check of samples within a specified time frame.

For getting clearly indicative results from Antigen testing, the procedure needs to be correct as it involves taking nasopharyngeal sample from a part behind the nasal cavity in the upper throat area. Further on, the samples need to be kept at an optimal temperature range.

If the sample is not taken correctly or stored properly, the results will always be negative even though the candidate might be actually positive. This is akin to actually contributing to the level of spread and more seriously, abetting the spread due to wrong results.

Thus the daily figures given to the media are also distorted and don’t project the actual spread. And, of course, it’s common knowledge that the BJP agenda is to suppress the real Covid status for obvious reasons. It’s when people get the reality status that they will become more self vigilant and act responsibly and understand that after 42 deaths, 1600+ active cases & 6000+ results pending

Downplaying facts and figures to curtail panic is not the strategy to tackle a pandemic. I hope now atleast better sense prevails and necessary corrections are done before it’s too late.
