The Government decision to open up Bars & Restaurants, Tourism etc has to be taken with a pinch of salt. A lot of caution needs to be exercised in the implementation of the re-opening of these social hubs where social distancing is extremely difficult.

The Disadvantages are far too many when compared to the minor economic advantages of Bars-n-Restaurants resuming business. We’re talking about human lives in comparison to economic revival. Human Welfare should always have priority over Economic Welfare and more so in wake of a World Pandemic.

Every medical expert including our very own Dr.Jagadish Cacodkar & Dr.Ira Almeida has stressed that Social Distancing is the only real method of preventing Corona. It doesn’t require a medical degree to know that social distancing goes for a toss in bars & restaurants. When most of our socially irresponsible elements don’t observe basic Covid protocols even in normal state of mind how can we expect them to do so under intoxicated revelry.

The daily count is rising day by day reaching a record 636 new cases in a day. We have also crossed 200 Covid deaths which is far too high and sad for a small state like Goa. With the mindless abandon that will follow the opening of bar-n-restaurants, tourism and borders, it will be no wonder if Goa starts clocking 2000 new Covid cases per day !

Worst still is the decision to do away with Covid negative certification from air travellers & road borders This will mean the Second Innings of the already Infamous Quarantine Tourism. And when these tourists whose Covid antecedents are not known conduct their revelry in bar-n-restaurants, all caution will be thrown to the wind. All the sacrifices made by our local population will be nullified as more and more Corona carriers keep landing in Goa thus compounding the already dangerous spike rate.

While it’s true that the tourism sector needs to be reopened along with everything else to revive the economy it’s equally important to understand that Simply opening up sectors for business without putting in place proper restrictive protocols to ensure the safety of people will only do more damage than good in the long run. Especially when it comes to the pandemic, rather than revival of economy, such uncontrolled reopening will only lead to uncontrollable consequences and catastrophic loss of precious human lives.

Economic revival should not take a precedent over the Human Quotient. The Sustenance-cum-Protection of Human Life and Human Welfare should always be the priority.

Every new day brings newer links of Calangute to Drugs and with NCB implicating a Calangute resident in the National level 1.7 crore marijuana(Bud)drug bust, the deadly Cocktail of Drugs-Bollywood-Crime-Money Laundering once again stands exposed.

There are no two opinions that Goa is the Drug Capital of India and that such high level drug business is not possible without powerful political backing. Thus the Drug Cartel-Politician Nexus is established beyond doubt in Goa. And if the grapevine is to be believed, the Calangute resident F.Ahmed implicated in the Delhi Marijuana(bud) haul has direct links with our very own Pablo Escobar. Since the links of almost all the current BJP bigwigs has been exposed in the Vagator Drug & Tirumala Tirupati Society inter-connections, we cannot expect any impartial enquiry or justice from Goa Government. It’s time the Central Agencies including the NIA takes charge because there’s always a direct anti-national angle to the Politician-Drug Mafia nexus.
Surely, the Political and Bollywood names will use every dirty trick to coverup their involvement by trying to hush up such cases but it’s time we Goans wake up to the fact that our tiny paradise is on the brink of becoming a Colombia or Mexico with our own homegrown Pablo’s & Don Corleone’s. It’s time we identify the Drug Wolves in Political Sheepskin and give them the bitter taste of People’s Power.

While there’s news that the prime accused in Vagator drug case will come under the NCB & ED scanner, its strange that none of the Investigating agencies seem to delve deeper into the Mafia-Betting-Money Laundering nexus directly linking Gurmeet Singh and his Co-Investors in the Tirumala Tirupathi Society to the main accused Kapil Zhaveri.

Mr. Singh, allegedly the Kingpin of Betting runs cricket leagues in snow-laden Canada. Suspiciously, this seems to promote betting, gambling and serve as a front for his drug money laundering business.
Despite providing a detailed list of Who’s Who & direct connections based on valid company board memberships, it’s surprising that not a single move is initiated by the Govt against the real bigwigs alleged to be behind the flourishing Drug Trade and related Crime Industry in Goa. It’s very clear that the CMO is afraid to move against the bigwigs and is searching for an innocent scapegoat to cover up the issue.
But my first expose’ is just the tip of the iceberg and I assure Goans that I shall not rest until those destroying Goa with the deadly cocktail of Drugs, Crime and Corruption are fully exposed!

As expected, after creating a pandemic havoc in Goa with his casual approach of Bhivpachi Garaj Na, now our Dr CM has the gall to blame the public and Ganesh Chaturthi festive mood for the spike in Covid cases.
If at all the Goan people were nonchalant about Covid protocols then it’s only because of the casual approach and Utter mismanagement of Covid control by the Government despite having a Doctor as CM!
Instead of taking proactive approach to do damage control, the CM is once again playing the blame game and this time, the blame is on the festive mood of Goenkars. What’s the Government’s role if not to have strictly imposed the Covid restrictions and protocols if the festivities were surpassing Covid precautions? Why didn’t the Govt machinery anticipate it & take precautionary measures? Well everyone knows that the CMOs was more interested in the Drug Drama rather than Covid control and finally, it’s the people of Goa who’re taking the blame for everything.

Who opened up Goa for Quarantine Tourism when we were in the Green Zone? Wasn’t it these botched up policies with corrupt agendas that took Goa from Zero to 178 deaths? Why’s the Government hiding it’s failure & unpreparedness when the fact is that there were repeated warnings from WHO, Medical Experts and Elected Representatives about this spike? And so to coverup the Government failure, the CM is now blaming the people of Goa. The truth of the matter is that Dr Pramod Sawant and his Government has failed to protect Goans.
Wilful Ineptitude and Opportunism even in face of Corona is the only reason we’re at this dangerous level of Covid spread.

While I am glad that my dream of turning Goa into a Knowledge Hub as projected in my editorial is being given a fillip by the CMOs move to constitute a committee for enabling Private Universities, I would request the CM who’s also the Education Minister to ensure Transparency in the proceedings.
There should be a clear onus on boosting the present Government infrastructure on which the majority of the population relies upon. So while promoting Private Universities, the Committee must ensure that there’s a level playing field for students who will continue to rely on the Government Educational setup.

Right To Education also includes Right to Equal Opportunity and we must bring our Government institutions on par so that there’s healthy competition between the Have’s & Have Not’s.

I can only hope that the CMOs shows transparency on this sensitive subject of Education and doesn’t end up with biased & personal profit motivated closed
door policies as has been the practice of CMOs on all matters till date. Arbitrary suppression of information and autocratic approach shouldn’t spoil this opportunity to turn Goa into a Knowledge Hub and help boost our economy.

Clarity on the subject and open door discussions with all stakeholders should be adopted to ensure that the pros and cons of the implementation are made known to the general public who’re finally the deciding factor in a democracy.

Once again the Lokayukta is taking the Inept Goa Government to task for showing absolute disregard to the prescribed deadlines in the Labour Scam report. There seems to be an effort to downplay the alleged irregularities which hasn’t gone well with a righteous authority like Lokayukta.
The CMOs should surely be ashamed of being taken to task by an authority like Lokayukta time and again. The only plausible reason for the purposeful delay in submitting a full fledged report clarifying all the allegations/irregularities in the Labour Scam is that that there’s a lot to hide for this Corrupt Government.
Goans will recall that just a couple of months back, the Lokayukta very harshly observed that “Only God can save Goa “ from this Government which is corrupt from the topmost office that conspires to coverup every act of corruption.

While the BJP talks of high principles it just seems the opposite when it comes to BJP Governance under Dr Pramod Sawant where principles of Righteousness, Democracy and Accountability go for a toss, replaced by Opportunism, Mismanagement & Corruption!

25 Covid deaths in less than 72 hours taking the count to 175. To make things worse, our ESI hospitals and private hospitals designated for Covid treatment are at full capacity and every other Covid treatment facility is stretched to its maximum.

I request every Goan to strictly maintain social distancing & frequent sanitisation to avoid contracting Corona because it means you will be forced to undergo home treatment which could put other family members at risk. I have made enough requests to the Government to be prepared but since those requests have fallen on deaf ears of CMOs, I appeal to every Goan to take precautions to protect himself, family and fellow citizens failing which due to the unpreparedness of the Government, every Goan will be left to fend for themselves on the streets and not hospitals. This Covid Mismanagement will go down as the Darkest Chapter of Ineptitude in Governance.

This beautiful small state of ours has had 157 of our fellow Goans succumbing to Covid. If we compare this figure proportionately to deaths with other larger states, we realise that our death rate is frighteningly high. And sadly, the situation is turning worse as we clocked a high of 9 deaths in a single day . With the big spike projected by WHO just around the corner, it’s terrifying to think of the days ahead.
And all of this tragic situation only because of our Governments Novel Quarantine Tourism idea instead of trying to beat out the Novel Corona Virus!

Even now, despite warnings from reputed sources including WHO of the imminent spike ahead and the already visible rise in fatalities from the beginning of August, the CMOs is still in a limbo about how to tackle the same. With more and more health workers and medical staff being sidelined by the infection, we’re already facing a dearth of proper medical care to Corona infected as well as other regular medical cases requiring urgent hospitalisation.
Instead of preparing ourselves by requisitioning medical assistance from the Centre/Army Medical Corps, obtaining affordable medications etc our Government is busy making the most of the pandemic by buying medical supplies at 5 to 6 times the regular market rates. It’s just another opportunity for making money for our Corrupt Govt and the spike in cases will bring more & more opportunities to make money. Perhaps that’s the reason behind the purposeful unpreparedness of CMOs to the worsening Covid situation. The Covid Mismanagement by the CMOs is thus a purposefully staged scenario to create opportunities for corrupt practices be it Covid fund adjustments or Covid purchases.

Such a Shameful Mismanagement & that too at the cost of 157 Goan lives and untold sufferings!

As promised, I have delivered the Expose’ of a very serious malice involving the dangerous cocktail of Drugs, Money Laundering’, UnderWorld and the BJPs favourite Bollywood connection, so that’s what makes me say “Picture abhi baki hain doston” (pun intended)…

I know that phone lines are running hot from here to Delhi and back to find a way to choke my voice before it reaches the relevant agencies in Delhi. I am expecting more personal attacks and backlashes from CM Pramod Sawant and his coterie that’s been exposed but I am confident about my strength which lies in the support of Goan people. There’s no stronger power than People’s Power in a Democracy and so long as the People are with me, I shall keep fighting Corruption. Nobody can suppress my Voice which is the Voice of Goenkars against turning Goa into “Sin City” of India.

Under the Pandemic restrictions, we have been witnessing a dangerous buildup of Drug Trade, Money Laundering, High Level Betting Games with International connections and who’s to say that this whole setup is not directly or indirectly contributing to terrorism also because all the above are avenues of Terror funding!

Right now, I don’t want to believe the frightening terror angle but Corruption is the Mother of all anti-national activities and what we’re witnessing in Goa under the present Government is Utter Corruption as never seen before. That combined with Absolute lack of Governance and Total Mismanagement of the Pandemic has brought Goa to the brink of death and overall destruction of the Goan identity.

It’s time the People of Goa get together to save Goa from being turned into the Drug & Crime Capital of India.

Indian Democracy has stood it’s ground with resilience through the Emergency and the manipulations of many Autocratic minds who manipulate Governments to suit their Corrupt agendas. Our Goa Government is just one such example with an Autocratic CM and Absolutely Corrupt Government that has been criticised from Lokayukta to the Governor and every proactive organisation. This Government resents Opposition and believes in trampling upon Democracy & Basic Human Rights. It is at such time’s that the Judiciary becomes the last resort of the people. And so as the Vagator Drug Drama’s storyline shifted from a plain drug raid to a political vendetta against innocent supporters of the Opposition, of course with the sole aim of crushing the Opposition, the Judiciary has come out with Justice and Lawful relief to the illegally confined.
Once again, the Judiciary has proved to be the Shining Hope against Injustice.

The arbitrary governance, corruption and mismanagement of this Government headed by CM Dr Pramod Sawant has crossed all limits playing with the lives of Goans by Absolute Mismanagement of the Covid scenario from day one. From zero to 140+ deaths and counting, the Government has failed on all fronts. The only aim of the CMOs and team is to exploit every adversity faced by Goans to push their Corrupt agendas. This can no more be tolerated and very soon I shall be exposing in a Big Way how the entire Government machinery is being manipulated for the single purpose of Corruption while the entire population of Goa is staring at certain death.
The doom of this Corrupt & Autocratic Government will soon be witnessed as the People of Goa wake up to the shocking revelations and drags this Govt down.

Meanwhile I request the Health Minister to take note of the 140+ Covid deaths and increasing figures of infections since everyone in the Government seems busy with drug politics while Goans end up scapegoats of this Government’s Covid Mismanagement. I once again appeal on behalf & for the benefit of the common man of Goa to requisition for Railway Isolation Coaches which will serve as First Line Treatment Centre’s, if and when the pandemic spike goes up. I hope this will prepare us for the worst since nothing is being done to prevent it as this Govts priority is drug politics and not Covid control or the welfare of Goans.
