Shamelessness has a new synonym-Dr Pramod Sawant! How else do you describe a person who has lead Goa to this precarious stage of 300+ Covid deaths and thousands suffering first from Corona and then from its dangerous after-effects for life.
When the entire world and it’s powerful leaders were shaking under the fear of Corona, we had two World Class Dimwits who thought otherwise. One in Brazil [Jair Bolsonaro] and the other in our our very own Goa[Dr Pramod Sawant]. Our Dr DEATH is worse than the Butcher of Brazil as this Dr who’s a shame to the entire medical fraternity, took us from Green Zone to 300+ deaths by his idiotic slogan “Bhivpachi Garaj Na”. And he’s still got the gall to come out on TV and tell us now that we have to be careful! Where was this concern when he and his sidekick threw caution to the wind in the name of Quarantine Tourism which was the real beginning of Covid deaths in Goa.

Nobody else but this Cruel Dr CM is responsible for every Covid death and sufferings of the Goans. He ought to be tried by the Janata Adalat for murders of 300+ Goans!

It’s his callousness about the Pandemic and his Greedy Affliction in finding opportunities for Corruption behind the veil of Covid protocols that’s brought us to this alarming stage where our death rate is higher than the National and World average per million. Since this Ignoramus Dr became the CM, our quaint little Goa is in the news for all the wrong reasons and breaking unsavoury world records.
Notwithstanding his Absolute Covid Mismanagement and Careless Attitude, this man is brazenly telling us now to be Careful! Even the thickest skinned Crocodile wouldn’t shed such deceitful tears regarding the 14 Covid deaths in a single day after making the biggest blunders that has singlehandedly lead to death and destruction all around Goa.

Even the most devious of Politicians or the most cruel of Dictators would have taken moral responsibility for the deaths and resigned/abdicated but not this power hungry CM who’s only aim is to fill his moneybags while Goans land up in dozens per day into bodybags!

Having said that in futility as we can’t expect moral responsibility from a person who’s the Patron of every scam, illegal businesses, drug menace, Covid deaths & every other malice that’s plaguing Goa, we now have to take upon ourselves to bring down this Malicious Dr CM and at the same time, we ourselves have to strictly maintain Social Distancing to win the fight against Covid.

Goa must be the only state that’s fighting not just Corona Pandemic but an even bigger Demonic Disaster in the form of an Absolutely Corrupt, Autocratic and Belligerently Heartless Chief Minister!

It’s a sad state of affairs for nature loving Goans that our own CM is acting against the wishes and better interests of our naturally endowed state of Goa.
The struggle and hope’s of environmentalists and for that matter all nature loving Goans are crushed when Dr Pramod Sawant categorically submits to the Centre that only 30 out of the 96 village’s around Mollem Biodiversity are ecologically sensitive.
This highly insensitive approach to the people’s opposition is a harbinger of worse things to come as the CMOs bows down to the political and money power of the Coal lobby that stands to benefit the most from the doubling of track’s, roads and other proposed infrastructure development through the lungs of Goa.

I have vehemently opposed this illogically destructive approach since its inception and taken up the issue in writing with the PMOs, Central Environment Ministry and also the Chief Justice of India.
When the whole world is moving towards preserving of whatever nature is left this Government seems to be motivated to destroy the natural flora and fauna for which Goa is known the world over. Natural disasters are on the rise all over the planet due to the greedy exploitation of nature by man. Sustainable Development is the buzzword around the world and we’re doing just the opposite!
The Pandemic limitations are being repeatedly used by the CM to circumvent public opinion and opposition on every matter including this issue. Covid seems to be the best coverup for suppression of public opinion and the CM is seizing the opportunity time and again to satisfy his Central masters while suppressing the just voices of Goans.

We must not be mute spectators to these blatant violations of nature that will affect our future generations. We cannot let a few Corporate Giants to push us into oblivion although the CMOs has already succumbed to Central dictats and kept the Mollem Biodiversity at the Moneyed Feet of the Corporate Giant’s!

Calangute is in the news but for the wrong reasons, AGAIN & AGAIN!
The Gambling Den bust involving 42 tourists and seizure of more than 10 lakh rupees cash & gambling chips worth Rs 57 lakhs is just the tip of the iceberg. Gambling and Drugs are inter related, in fact every crime is directly related to the Drug Business in Calangute that prospers under the protection of our homegrown Pablo Politico & Co !
With so much Police, Crime Branch, ED, NCB presence, if still such criminals continue with their activities without fear, then it means only one thing – Powerful Political backing! The Goan public needs to understand that for every one case of criminal activity that’s detected, hundreds go undetected under political patronage. Those that get caught are either diversions or newbies functioning independently.

The Politician-Mafia Nexus has deepened it’s roots in the Calangute belt and the Covid scenario has multiplied the Drug trade and related activities including prostitution & gambling. The Grand Cocktail of Drugs-Money Laundering-Bollywood-Mafia has Interstate & International connections which is making Calangute and Goa famous for all the wrong reasons. Our young generation is getting caught in this intricate web of drugs and petty crimes that eventually leads to higher levels of criminal activities & degeneration of our youngsters. This is slowly having a negative impact on Goa’s Tourism image. From a state famous for Beaches & Nature Tourism circuit, we’re becoming infamously famous for neonlit, club-casino, rave-drug party tourism. This ugly form of tourism depends on Corrupt Political patronage and since the present Government literally thrives on Corruption, we’re witnessing an increase in Drugs and related crimes in Goa.

I am continuing my crusade against the Drug menace and call for the support of Goans in this fight against the Drug Mafia and their Political Masters .

Everyday ends with escalating figures of Covid deaths and infections. The Pandemic is spreading like wildfire all around us as we failed to maintain the Green zone advantage achieved by Goa. I do not want to harp again on the failures & mismanagement as the present priority is to save each and every Goan from the pandemic. The most important thing is to ensure that no more of our beloved fellow citizens succumb to Covid because of our carelessness. It’s time for self-discipline, wearing masks, sanitisation and above all, Social Distancing.

I appreciate the Government initiative to provide free Covid kits to those who opt for Home Quarantine. With the rising number of Covid cases, it’s the only viable alternative left since the CMOs did not heed to the warnings of the spike and suggestions for preparedness.
I am also a tad apprehensive about the way in which the free Covid kit distribution will progress. Past examples of these corrupt masterminds finding opportunities even in adversity prompts me to request the CMOs to ensure that at least this single good initiative is implemented without mismanagement, political favouritism and Corruption. It would be a shame if this good effort ends up like the food packets scam, Labour Scam etc since scams have become a trademark of this Government.
I do hope there will be a uniformity of distribution with transparency of facts & figures regarding recipients and funds. Accountability and Transparency should be the trademark of a Democratic Government.

I also have serious concerns as a parent myself, regarding the Government decision to open up schools especially for 9th to 12th students. While fully agreeing that regular classes by teachers are the most beneficial for students in these classes that will be critical in shaping their futures, yet the spike in Covid doesn’t project a safe picture for regular classes. It will be extremely difficult to ensure Covid protocols or negate a rapid transmission possibility amongst the students because the virus is all around us now. With Home Quarantine becoming a reality and increase in asymptotic cases, there’s no sure method for clear detection to keep these students from harm’s way.
I fervently urge the CM who also holds the Education portfolio, not to rush into a decision. There’s an emergent need to mull over the pros & cons with the Teaching Community & Parents to formulate a safe conduct of the regular classes, if the same are absolutely unavoidable.

Once again, I appeal to my fellow Goenkars to help each other in this fight against Corona. Let’s remember that when we take the precautions we are actually not just protecting ourselves but our fellow Goans. Observing Social Distancing is not just for our personal safety but it’s rather a Social Responsibility and when we maintain it strictly in our everyday lives, we’re actually being Responsible Citizens!
And while we citizens do our part, let’s hope that the Government will do it’s part Responsibly!

Administrative protocols and discipline are an invariable part of service for all Government servants and generally every Government servant follows the service protocols. At the same time we should also understand that Government servants are also social individuals with collective social obligations. They live in the same society like every other citizen and are affected by the injustices in their personal, familial, social & environmental matters.

Threatening and imposing blanket curbs on their basic rights to protest appropriately in a democratic manner is not a justified move especially in Pandemic time’s. Every citizen including Government servants are going through a lot of stress and threats at this most inopportune time will effect negatively on their morale.

The extant CCS Conduct Rules are already a strong deterrent and such open threats are not at all a sign of healthy governance.

But then what can be expected from a Government that’s repeatedly proved its Autocratic nature. Good Governance is a far cry from this Government which has been thriving on purposeful Mismanagement and Opportunism. It’s been doing it’s business of Corruption and Mismanagement throughout the World Pandemic and making scapegoats of Government servants for their purposeful misgovernance. Now when the Civil servants have started realising the follies of this Government, it’s decided to stiffle the voices of legitimate dissent as an only an autocracy can – by threats!

As more and more of the Corruption, Mismanagement and involvements in the ugly drug business of the bigwigs of this Government keep getting exposed, there’s panic right from the CMOs down to the otherwise irrelevant BJP stooges. Thus begins the language of threats against those who could expose the Government and it’s misdoings.

The CMOs should appreciate that we’re under Pandemic protocol and not an Emergency!

Finally, Goa govt authorities have got off their high horses! I have been constantly asking the govt to convert South Goa District Hospital as COVID-19 hospital since several weeks through my press, blogs and social media. And thankfully now, Goa CM seems to have followed my suggestion – South Goa District Hospital is now converted into COVID-19 hospital to meet the increasing demand of beds for covid patients.

The Next step:

I strongly demand that the new GMC block into COVID-19 hospital immediately, freeing up GMC facilities for patients with other ailments. Currently, 30% plus facilities of GMC is being used for COVID-19 patients, depriving patients for treatment of other diseases.

• This will also add up space & resources for #COVIDWarrior doctors who are catching infection while treating patients.
• The new GMC block must be fully dedicated to tackle coronavirus cases specifically from *North Goa*. If needed, the entire block can be handed over to Army Medical Corps to help with treatment for coronavirus patients. This will also give a breathing break for our overworked doctors who are really working hard.
• Coronavirus cases in Goa are skyrocketing & we need our medical infrastructure to be fully prepared to tackle the menace & give respectable treatment to every Goan.

Thousands of Goans have already suffered because of poor medical infrastructure & lack of treatment. Goa CM and his government must act before it’s too late!

CMOs Inefficiency & Mismanagement is once again evident as Goa hits another national low with State Business Reform Action Plan{BRAP} coming at a shamefully low ranking of 24th amongst 36 States & UTs!
There’s nothing surprising about this abysmal performance because our CM has been more focused on Opportunistic avenues for Corruption that would fill personal coffers of himself and his cronies. They have been too busy with Quarantine Tourism, Illegal Mining, Labour Scam, ensuring their cuts from Covid funds, playing dirty politics to oust a Good Governor and above all the Drug Business.

Coming out with flying colours in the implementation of State Business Reform Action Plan would have required the CM to provide good governance in form of Access to Information, Adhering to prescribed Standards of Environment Protection, Local Self Governance Sanitation, Providing Single Window Service on all Government certifications, permissions, payments, Ensuring Job opportunities under various Govt schemes, implementation of Labour reforms and reduction in labour conflicts and such other socio-economic parameters.
Now how could a CM and his Government that’s thriving on chaos and mismanagement meet all these parameters? When Democracy itself has gone for a toss under this Autocratic CM, how can we hope for welfare based reforms?

Thus, Goa is at a pitiful 24th position when even the newly formed state of Telengana is ranked 3rd !
Good Governance and Public Welfare was never the forte of this Accidental CM and this is being proved repeatedly in all fronts. While every other state government is striving to improve the lives of their people with reforms and welfare measures and to overcome the pandemic effects, our CM & Gang are busy with their usual business of Drugs,Crime, clicking photos with Bollywood wannabes and filling moneybags.
So from 17th position in 2017-18 we have dropped to 24th position in 2020. This Dr CM has failed Goans on all fronts and it’s time he steps down before he brings more shame to Goa on the national platform.

It’s a shame that Calangute which is famous the world over for its beautiful beach synonymous with Goa’s Tourism has become infamous for Drug’s, Drugs and more Drugs.
With another haul of high quality Charas worth 90K, the present Government stands humiliated in front of the world time & again for allowing the situation to degenerate to these repeatedly shameful levels.
Such large scale Drug Business cannot flourish without Powerful Political Patronage and purposeful blind eye from the Administration bowing to high level pressures. Everyone seems to be a stakeholder in this Drug & associated businesses of Crime, Prostitution, Betting, Money Laundering that eventually lead to Anti-National/Terror Funding activities!
I once again call upon for urgent in-depth Investigation by Central Agencies including the NIA as these Drug Business has a national & international network. Our local Law Enforcement agencies are doing their best despite the pressure’s from Pablo & Don Corleone but need the support of Central agencies/NIA to curb this menace with an all encompassing action to bring in the international bosses and also frame the powerful local bigwigs.
I shall continue escalating the matters with the Central Agencies to fight this menace that’s destroying Goa & it’s future generations. I seek the support of every true-blooded Goenkar in this Fight against Drugs.

A Teacher is the most important person in a child’s development and in shaping his/her future. They tap hidden talents even in the most impoverished environments and boost them to fame and fortune while remaining unsung in the shadows.

In today’s families where both parents are working and have very little time for the children, it’s the Teachers who unassumingly take on the role of Parents and nourish the child’s emotional needs with love and support. Great Leaders and Achiever’s in every field have credited their teachers for their success stories.

With their versatility and adaptability we today see that the entire teaching community has admirably risen up to the challenges of Online Schooling. Even a World Pandemic has failed to undermine the resolve of this wonderful community that shapes lives & future.

Let’s take this opportunity to Appreciate the tireless efforts of all our Teachers that makes us better human beings.

While the CMOs continues to be in a limbo of Covid Mismanagement, the projected spike is becoming a reality. With 8 deaths in a day and a record 713 new cases in a single day, Goa is witnessing a doubling of Covid cases from around 300 per day last month to 700+/day.

This is a worrisome state of affairs and since the Government is in a denial mode, I appeal to every Goan to take charge of the situation to ensure the life & safety of each other. It’s time we all Goenkars took up the fight against Corona in every household, street and public space. As the Government sleeps, Let’s become our own Guardians and imbibe the spirit of Goemkarponn in our hearts and defeat the Covid spike which is threatening our very existence.
It’s time we all realise that until a vaccine is introduced, Social Distancing is the SOCIAL VACCINE against Corona!
